Oh boy, I was so excited about my seven pound weight loss last week that I managed to slack off just enough to gain a pound this week! Obviously I was a little bummed because it means two things.

  1. I need to actually track everything before I eat it, not guess at my calorie count
  2. Working out isn't an option

My husband reminded me this is a lifestyle change and to mourn a pound gained isn't the right mindset, I am down six pounds as I work on adjusting my eating and that sounds so much more positive. Much more realistic.

It's the constant struggle of eating whatever you want and creating a healthy lifestyle of balance and enjoyment. Some days won't be easy but the experience doesn't need to be miserable because there are some major benefits to figuring out the amount needed to consume to have great results.

If I am honest with myself, I was really into heavenly hunks this past week. I treated myself to a 101 calorie bite of delicious dark chocolate and oat cookie block, sometimes two adding this on top of what I thought was rounding my day out at 12,000ish calories but what I think I need to couple more calories burned in order to do this or I will continue to slightly tick up on the scale.

Planning my meals, choosing healthy snacks and staying away from fancy coffees. I have switched to powdered creamer but last week I believe there were a few coffees with regular creamer. It didn't even seem like much but the scale doesn't lie and I only get on it once a week so here we are.

I also really struggled with water intake and getting anywhere near 12,000 steps. Trying to take it slow and not stress myself out and I know you can do it too!
